Chris Daynes
Born in Hove, Sussex, England, Chris was educated in Norfolk in the 1960′s. An Honours Degree in Fine Art at Leeds College of Art followed. Whilst keeping up his personal work, he embarked on a very rewarding teaching career lasting some 30 years, interspersed with some travelling. Since giving up the day job in 2001, Chris has been fortunate to be able to paint full time. He is an ‘on the spot’ artist, making rapid and informative visual notes suitable for working into larger work. His work aims to reflect or react to the many sensations received over a period of time when different events occur, flights of birds, noises, visiting people, changes of light and times of day. He lives in Tenterden, Kent, with his wife Vivienne, and they have two grown up children.
