Working in his hill-top studio overlooking the coastline of southern England, Michael B conjures visions of imaginary fields, skies of flaming patterns, fish and flowers of courtly shape. Extraordinary colour and shapely forms are his muses, watercolour, oil, pastel, serigraph, etching, inks, charcoal black his mediums. An eye for the unusual, with a mind for the bizarre and amusing tactile, he travels widely and regularly for his inspiration, colour and style to life, reflecting so vividly in his work.
His recent travels included a painting tour in Latin America, taking in Uruguay, Paraguay, Argentina and Chile, attempting watercolours in the arid Atacama Desert, where watercolours dry at an incredibly fast rate.
